I enjoy team-based work. When I joined HSBC, I played
basketball with several friends and we didn’t have a team. I
purely played basketball for fun. Later on, when I got to know
more people and found more people who were also interested in
basketball, we began play basketball together routinely. When we
played more games together, either ‘pick-and-roll’ or
‘pass-and-go’ between teammates went more smoothly. I found that
playing basketball was a good way to build a team and I also
learned how to cooperate with my teammates. As a point guard, I
got to know when I should pass the ball and when I should shoot
myself. Basketball is not a game where there is only one hero,
instead, it is a game that each of the five players contributes
most effectively.
I continually contribute to and benefit from my community. I
love to live in a community where people from diversified
background help each other, care for each other, and share their
thoughts with each other. I hold charity activity for the
handicapped people and for victims of natural disasters. I
donate 15% of my salary into the charity. I also helped an old
lady who lives alone in the opposite apartment. I accompany her
to the store to buy some food every Saturday. Due to my
significant contribution to Chaoyang district community, I
obtained the golden medal in “2002 Chaoyang District Communal
Tug-of-war Competition”. I believe at Kellogg, I can make
similar contribution by sharing my sense of community to build
strong relationships and fraternal camaraderie with my fellow
students.
I am a good karaoke singer on a competitive basis as well as
recreationally. I was named “Top Ten Singers” in my university.
I made a lot of friends in karaoke and it is a good place for me
to maintain relationship with my clients.
I have solid GMAT score and GPA (760 and 3.8 respectively)
which prove that I would have no problem handling the rigorous
workload in MBA program of Chicago GSB.
